Amber's Donkey by Julian and Tracy Austwick

13 October 2017

This fabulous book is definitely one of my favourites. It is a true story of how a donkey and a little girl healed each other.

Julian and Tracy Austwick are the parents of premature twins, Hope and Amber. Amber wasn’t as fortunate as her sister and had to stay in the incubator for a few extra months.

When Amber was a bit older, her mother took her to the donkey sanctuary. Amber met Shocks the rescue donkey, and the rest is history. Week by week Amber got better and better after seeing Shocks. The girls at the sanctuary noticed Shocks was also getting a bit more confident with the other donkeys, bit by bit.

I don’t want to spoil any more of this great book. I would rate this book a 10/10. As I said at the start it is my favourite book so that says a lot. This book would be great for kids in 6th class. You should definitely read this brilliant book!
