Raymie Nightingale by Kate DiCamillo

13 September 2017

Raymie Nightingale tells the heartwarming story of young Raymie Clarke whose father has just run away with a dental hygienist. In order to make her father come home, Raymie has to do good deeds and learn how to twirl a baton, so she can enter the ‘Little Miss Central Florida Tire’ competition. The plan is to win it and get her picture in the newspaper. She hopes her father will see it and decide to return home to Raymie and her lonely mother. Will Raymie succeed?

This is a story of love, loss, courage and friendship. I give it 10 stars and I recommend it for readers aged 10+.

Go on – read it!
