April's Diary of a First Year

Hi, everyone!

Hope you all had a great Saint Patrick’s Day!

I had a very good month of March. You may remember me mentioning our mini company competition in the Slieve Russell Hotel? Well … we won!

Changing Seasons – our mini company – got first place in all of Cavan and we won €500, which was amazing. We are now going up to Dublin for the finals on May 3. So, wish us luck!

Seachtain na Gaeilge was on the week leading up to Saint Patrick's Day. We all had to design posters advertising the week. We also wrote poems and our Irish teacher picked the best six to be sent off to a national competition. My poem got picked out of the top six, so I was very happy with that.

We also took part in a quiz. I answered a lot of Harry Potter and Ed Sheeran questions and it was a lot of fun, but my team came second ... just losing by just a few points!

We are making puppets in art at the minute, and it is a lot of fun. I'm making an artist puppet with mad hair and paint all over her clothes.

I can't really believe there's only about two months left in First Year! It's mad … and it feels like the year flew by!

My sister Jade is ten years old and on April 1, she is cutting 12 inches off her hair! She’s donating it to a charity to make wigs for children with cancer. I'm really proud of her and she has already raised over €500.

So, until next month, thank you for reading. Have a great April and Easter break!
