You may recall the first movie, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, ends with the extremely powerful and dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (played by Johnny Depp) getting captured by MACUSA (The Magical Congress of the USA).
Now, the sequel, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald, sees Grindlewald escape custody, setting out to gather followers, most of whom have no idea of his true intent – to raise pure blood wizards and witches to rule the world over non-magical beings (no-mags or muggles, for short).
Meanwhile, in England, a younger Albus Dumbledore (played by Jude Law) enlists the help of Newt Scamander, his former student from Hogwarts – played to perfection by Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne – in trying to track down Grindlewald. Of course, Newt has no idea what lies ahead and just how dangerous it’s going to get … which is perhaps just as well!
To the delight of FB fans, some of the best-loved characters from the first movie make a reappearance – Katherine Waterston as Tina Goldstein, Alison Sudal as Queenie Goldstein and Dan Fogler as the lovable baker Jacob Kowalski.
If you liked the first movie, you will love this.
