How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World

10 January 2019 | Posted under Entertainment

The final instalment of the How To Train your Dragon trilogy is finally here and I know fans (of which there are many!) will be having mixed feelings about it. Happy that the new movie is here, but sad that the trilogy is coming to an end.

But fear not movie fans, as HTTYD is ending on a seriously high note.

Based on the massively successful book series by Cressida Cowell, this movie is (yet again) jam-packed with of some of the best-loved characters in recent animation history.

When Hiccup (played by Jay Baruchel) becomes the chief of Berk (at the end of the second movie), he fulfills his life-long dream of creating a peaceful world between man and dragon.

However, it’s not long into the third movie when danger threatens the village and Hiccup’s reign as chief. Hiccup and Toothless, his trusted dragon, must leave the only home they have known and travel to a hidden world to fight the evil Grimmel to protect everything they hold dear.

With a voice cast that includes Oscar winner Cate Blanchett, America Ferrara, Jonah Hill and Gerard Butler to name but a few, you may prepare for dragon drama that will leave you on the edge of your seat.

Even if you are not a fan of the book series or the other movies, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is definitely worth a watch and is, most definitely, ending on a high note.

How to Train Your Dragon: Fun Facts

  1. Toothless is the first character we meet in any of the movies, as his silhouette is seen flying through the background during the Dreamworks intro.
  2. Toothless’s look is very similar to Stitch’s from the Lilo and Stitch movie. That’s no coincidence as both directors that worked on the How to Train Your Dragon series also directed Lilo and Stitch!
  3. Astrid doesn’t feature in any of the original books by Cressida Cowell – she was created especially for the movie.
