Nessie Online?

We’ve all heard of the Loch Ness Monster, a creature said to live in Loch Ness in the Scottish highlands.  It is said to be a mythical creature, as no concrete evidence of its existence has ever been provided.

The Loch Ness Monster, or Nessie, is said to be very large with a very long neck, but many of the sightings of Nessie are thought to be ‘wishful thinking’. However, one woman in America claims to have spotted him – making this the ninth sighting of Nessie this year!

The weirdest thing about this story is that she claimed she spied him from the comfort of her own home … in America!

You see, Diana Turner from Michigan recorded the sighting after spotting it on the Loch Ness webcam, which scans the water.

Diana said she was watching the water, where several recent sightings have been made, when she noticed a strange movement on the water.  The sighting lasted about two minutes and, as there was only one boat on the water, it could not have been caused by any movement of that boat.

According to Gary Campbell, the recorder and keeper of the Official Loch Ness Monster sightings register, they have accepted her sighting and it has been registered.

This makes it the most number of sightings in this century! The use of the webcam means there can now be more and more people on the lookout for Nessie. Can they not just leave her alone?
