October's Diary of a First Year

13 October 2016 | Posted under School News

Hi, everyone!

I hope you’re all well and that you enjoyed last month’s first instalment!

This month, so much has been happening and I’ve been dying to tell you all about it.

First of all, I’m delighted to say, I’ve made lots of new friends. The teachers aren’t too bad either... Well, most of them, anyway!

We recently did something called Week of Language and Culture. Lots of my new friends come from different places, and so our French teacher has been helping us type short essays about different countries.

As I’m Irish, I was allowed to do whatever country I liked. I chose Lithuania, and I’ve had lots to write about.

Did you know, Lithuania holds the world record for the most people with blonde hair?

For my optional subjects, I am planning on taking Home Economics and Art. In my school, we get to do tasters of each optional subject, which is cool and helps you decide. I am also forming a mini-company with three friends, and we’re making candles and wooden Christmas decorations. Our business studies teachers are going to take us to a craft fair, which is something to look forward to!

I can’t wait for Hallowe’en! I’m dressing up, although my friends think they’re too old- you can never be too old for a bit of fun! It’s crazy that a whole month has passed since I wrote last. The time went so fast! I hope you’re all settling in to school.
