The Paragraph Project #2

25 March 2020 | Posted under Entertainment

Every day, we'll give you a sentence to begin your creative paragraph with. All you need to do is take it from there. But don't go too mad -- it's a paragraph, not a novel.

The trick is, you try to make it as exciting, sad, happy, scary or interesting as you can. When you have it completed, pop it in the comment box below. That evening, we'll go through all the paragraphs and publish the best of the lot. If you write a paragraph and it doesn't get published, don't give up -- we have many more of these planned for the coming weeks!

Pens out, keyboards ready, creative juices flowing? Let's get writing!

Today's opening sentences:

I could hear a voice in the distance -- of that there was no doubt. I just couldn't make out what it was saying.

And remember, share this activity with your friends, neighbours, cousins and grandparents. Writing is for all!

CHECK OUT FRIDAY'S PICK OF THE BUNCH

BY AMBER MORRIS GORMAN

I could hear a voice in the distance -- of that there was no doubt. I just couldn't make out what it was saying.

It sounded like a female calling out for someone or something. I couldn't really tell but something made me go and investigate what the noise was.

Once I got closer, I realised it was a woman in her mid-twenties calling out for someone named Bruno.

I soon realised who Bruno was -- her dog.

I felt bad and decided to help the poor woman find her dog. Oh, and did I mention that we were in a massive forest with endless trees?

I sighed at the thoughts of having to search the whole place.

Anyways, I was feeling kind that day so I decided: even if this takes up the whole day, I know that the woman (whose name was Elle) would finally be able to go home with her loving dog if I found him.

We searched for at least an hour until suddenly I saw some tracks on the ground that looked to be pawprints. I followed them and, sure enough, I found Bruno happily eating some leftover food that some campers must have left.

The woman thanked me and gave me a big hug as we said our goodbyes.
