Based on this month's Planet History, we invite you and your class to discuss the importance of voting and what it means to you.
Here are some statements to think about:
Everyone should have the right to vote.
Children should have the right to vote.
Voting isn't that important. Governments will do what they like anyway.
Only people who know about politics should vote.
Prisoners should not have the right to vote.
You should be prosecuted (fined) if you do not vote.
In class groups, or in pairs, discuss the above statements and see how you feel about the right to vote. Is this an important topic? Have your say!
