60 years ago this , Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin was the first human to journey into space.

He was aboard the Russian Vostok spacecraft when he an orbit of the Earth (April 12, 1961).

He never to space after this flight earned super-stardom in his and all over the world. , in 1968, Yuri, who was also a pilot in the Russian army, died when the he was flying crashed. He was just 34 years of age.
