Everything you know about dragons … is wrong!

The brilliant How to Train Your Dragon saga returns – but this time in live action.

Set in the Viking village of Berk, the story follows teenage misfit Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, whose world is turned upside down when he captures – and befriends – a dragon. That dragon, of course, is none other than Toothless.

As humans and dragons face off in an age-old war, Hiccup begins to realise that friendship, trust and bravery might be the only way to bring peace between species. But when powerful enemies threaten the fragile bond he’s built, Hiccup must decide what kind of leader – and person – he wants to be.

With stunning visuals, a soaring score and a heartfelt story at its core, this live-action remake is directed by the original trilogy’s creator, Dean DeBlois. If you were are a fan of the animated series, I think you will be quite pleased with this version.

TPP rating: 4.5 out of 5
